It’s October and the winter brews should be hitting the shelves any week now. Before you get your mouth wrapped around a nice Winter Warmer, Barleywine or Stout , take a look at some of the pumpkin beers in the list below because you could have missed something special that may have been overlooked this season.

This is my list of some unique pumpkin beers that have wowed my taste buds when I thought I tried every pumpkin beer out there.

Point Whole Hog Pumpkin Ale

This is one of the better pumpkin ales out there. Price was nice too. Not a spice monster like some (won’t name any) and the weight is pretty impressive at 7.5% and is well hidden. A must try if you love pumpkin beers. Read the full review here

Manayunk Yunkin’ Punkin’

This is one of the best pumpkin ales that tasted so close to fresh pumpkin pie for the money that I’ve had in a long time. Just the right amount of spice makes this an awesome session pumpkin brew. Well done and highly recommend Read the full review here

Samuel Adams 20 Pounds Of Pumpkin

It’s been a while since I had the regular Sam Adams Pumpkin Ale but I thought this beer was pretty tasty. Not a palate wrecker with the spices and I got a nice roasted pumpkin flavor. Read the full review here

New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Atomic Pumpkin

This beer is like drinking a very spicy pumpkin pie. There was heat from the peppers but it didn’t wreck my palate (even though it made my nose run) If you want to try a different take on the Fall classic then pick this one up. Read the full review here

 

Spellbound Pumpkin Ale

The pumpkin is very present in this beer and it wasn’t super spiced but it had a little bit of a harsh finish to it. My palate was a little out of wack after I finished the glass. Read the full review here

Nebraska Wick For Brains

Not a bad Pumpkin Ale for the price. I liked that it was in a can. If you’re looking for a semi spicy session Pumpkin Ale, this is a good choice. Read the full review here

Is this the greatest pumpkin beer I’ve ever had? No, but it’s tasty enough to session without blowing out your palate with pumpkin spices.Read the full review here

Two Roads Roadsmary’s Baby

Another solid pumpkin beer and the first one from this brewery. Spiced just right and the booze is well hidden. The beer is aged in rum barrels. YUM! Read the full review here
