The 12 Beers Of Christmas

By Herr Mike

(Revised 2017)

Christmas is upon us again and the holiday offerings are abundant. Here are 12 of my favorites (In no particular order). Some are more local to where I live and some are more nationally available. See which beers you can add to your Christmas list and most of all, have a happy beer drinking holiday!

Schlafly Christmas Ale

A very spicy Xmas brew. They were trying to go for a mulled wine taste and that they achieved.

Anchor Christmas Ale 2017

The Christmas favorite is back again. I noticed the beer was not as spicy than previous years which I loved.

Samuel Adams Old Fezziwig Ale

This is one of my favorite winter warmers. Too bad it’s only available in the variety pack and not in sixers. Love the beer. Hate the new label.

Boulevard Nutcracker Ale

Just enough spice to wow my taste buds into wanting another sip. This is a must buy if you like the style.

Flying Dog Winter Warmer

This is a go to winter warmer for me. Complex yet easy to drink. This K-9 will warm yer bones on a cold night.

Ballantine Burton Ale

The depth of flavor is ridiculous and they opened up even more as the beer warmed up.

Tröegs Mad Elf

This is Troegs Christmas offering and it is a very unique brew.  After sipping this Mad Elf, Mikey is one happy Elf!

Dogfish Head Pennsylvania Tuxedo

What says Christmas more than a big spruce tree! That’s what sipping this Pale Ale reminds me of.

Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale

This is one of my favorite Christmas brews and it gives me a nice “Hop fix” in the cold of winter.

Two Roads Holiday Ale

This is my first Bière de Noel and it’s pretty tasty. This beer would pair nice with a holiday dinner.

Harpoon Winter Warmer

The first Christmas beer I drank over 25 years ago. The beer brings back so many great memories of past holidays with my friends and family that it will always be a favorite of mine.

He’Brew Hanukkah, Chanukah:

Pass the Beer

A Hanukkah beer for Christmas? This is a tasty holiday treat and that’s how I roll baby! L’Chayim!
