420 Day is upon us once again but even if you don’t partake in this cannabis holiday you can still enjoy a beer to celebrate!
Nothing beats a nice brew that is piney, grassy, earthy and dank. I myself do not partake in the cannabis culture anymore but drinking danky beers do bring back some memories (the ones I still have anyway LOL!).
Dank beers are really nothing new but with 420 Day becoming a more popular so called holiday, more brewers are making these types of beers. Most of these danky beers are IPA’s because of the variety of hops (and sometimes hemp) that are used.
Some of the beers on this list may smell dank (like my buddy’s old apartment) as soon as you open the can or bottle, and other beers may have more of the dankness in the flavor of the beer itself.
These beers may not be for everyone but if you love IPA’s these beers are worth seeking out. So here’s a list of some of my favorites. The beers are not listed in any special order and the link to the full review and ratings of each beer can be found by clicking in the beer’s name. So get your dank on and enjoy! PROST!
Stone Enjoy By 04.20 IPA
Another awesome brew in the “Enjoy By” series. Lots of fruit and super dank.
New Belgium The Hemperor HPA
Talk about dank! I smelled it as soon as I popped the cap and I was about 12 inches away from the bottle!
SweetWater 420 Strain G13 IPA
You get a nice balance of tropical fruit and dankness with a solid malt backbone. This beer was on my 2018 Top Ten list.
Founders reDANKulous Imperial Red IPA
This is one complex brew. Drank like a Strong Ale but way more hoppy.
Knee Deep Breaking Bud IPA
Another Cali IPA that crushes it with some dank hops and tropical fruitiness. A must try for any hop head
Lagunitas The Waldo’s Special Ale
Dank and fruity with a long piney finish. It’s so tasty that you forget you’re drinking a heavyweight DIPA at 100 IBU’s.
21st Amendment Blah Blah Blah IPA
Tropical fruits and a little dankness with a nice malty backbone makes this beer worth seeking out. I may just BLAH BLAH BLAH have another!
Neshaminy Creek Dank Hill
Another awesome DIPA from Neshaminy Creek. Shape Of Hops To Come is one of my favorites and this one is on par with that.
The Hop Concept Dank And Sticky
I’ve had my share of dank IPA’s but this one is “Excellent!” (in my best Bill & Ted voice) Super dank and sticky way after the initial sip.
Sweetwater Dank Tank Fresh Sticky Nugs
Another IPA from Sweetwater makes the list. Fruity goodness with some earthy dankness makes this a fun to drink to brew.
