Another year goes by and here are some of my top picks of craft beers I drank during 2019.
Some of these beers are new this year and some have been around for a while, but this is my first time drinking them. If you read any of my previous “Best Of” articles in the past you know the drill.
The beers are not listed in any special order and the link to the full review and ratings of each beer can be found by clicking in the beer’s name.
If you have any beers that you thought were outstanding for 2019 please leave it in the comments below. Here’s to another year of great craft beers and finding even more in 2020! PROST!
Lost Abbey Farmhouse Lager
A very unique and tasty Lager. The beer has a lot going on for such a low ABV. Read the review
BrewDog Albino Squid Assassin
Another great beer from BrewDog. Chewy, dank and spicy with the ABV well hidden makes this beer a must seek. Read the review
Avery Sweater Party
This may be the best winter warmer I’ve had in a while. So many flavors open up as the beer warms but they don’t dominate each other. This will be on my Xmas list from now on. Read the review
Funkwerks Tropic King
I loved Funkwerks regular Saison but this one takes it up a notch with a higher ABV and more spiciness. Read the review
Southern Tier Pumking Nitro
I like Pumpking but it always tasted over spiced to me. The nitro version mellows out the spice and made the beer more balanced. I also love the creamy mouthfeel. Read the review
Sixpoint Shatter
Another tasty DIPA from Sixpoint. Very juicy but not as dank as I thought it would be but still worth seeking out. Read the review
Left Hand White Russian Nitro
I’ve had a few nitro beers and white stouts and this is one of the best. “The Dude” would approve! Read the review
Founders Mas Agave
Another impressive barrel aged cocktail themed beer for Founders. I don’t drink many margaritas or gose beers but I could quaff one of these once in while. Well done. Read the review
Jack’s Abby Single Dry-Hopped Excess- Mosaic
I thought the regular IPL from Jack’s Abby was awesome but this variant with the mosaic hops takes this brew to another level. A must try! Read the review
Sierra Nevada – Dogfish Head Life & Limb
I love strong ales so I was excited to try this collab brew with Dogfish Head. Lots of complexity but so easy to drink despite the high ABV. Read the review
