Nestled cozily in an industrial complex in the quaint, little town of Mount Holly resides one of New Jersey newest and upcoming breweries, Spellbound Brewing.
Started in October of 2014, by three experienced home brewers, Mike Oliver, John Companick, and Scott Reading, Spellbound has been making a lot of noise with their flagship IPA and Porter, both of which can be found in cans at the brewery and in local liquor stores, restaurants and bars. In fact, Spellbound is the only brewery in New Jersey with their own Cask ACS canning line, as opposed to a mobile canning line.
In addition to the flagship beers being produced, the guys are consistently pushing the boundaries with such extreme recipes as their Peach IPA, Peach Double IPA, Vanilla Maple Porter, Jalapeño Ghost Pepper IPA, White Sage Black Pepper Saison and many others.
Their success in the area has led to have recently celebrated their one year anniversary on October 3rd. The celebration encompassed the entire brewery grounds and featured a lengthy tap list. For the occasion, the team also produced three different varieties of “whatwerewethinking???” barley wines. With a line that was wrapped around the building and down the street, it was no surprise that they sold out within a matter of hours.
If you have not done so already, stop by the brewery at 10 Lippincott Lane, Suite 12, Mount Holly, NJ 08060. Their hours are Thursday and Friday from 5-10pm and Saturday 12-8. Samples, pints, growler fills and cans of the IPA and Porter are available for purchase along with other merchandise.
Cheers!
